National plant protection organizations

National plant protection organizations (NPPOs) are the phytosanitary standard setting organizations in their respective country or territory. They collaborate with governmental and private bodies to build each nation’s ability to respond to plant health risks. The NPPOs of the contracting parties to the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) work with to IPPC to implement the convention. NPPOs are encouraged to participate in regional plant protection organizations to help them realize the benefits of safe trade.
