Morphological characteristics
The fruit apex is typically lengthily pointed with distinct pleats. The medium-long fruits (13-15 cm) are tapered at both ends. The pulp is a bright salmon-pink.
Angela Kepler recognizes five variants: long-peduncled, short-peduncled, multi-mauve, red and white1 .
